Gala dinner

The Gala dinner will take place at the Art-Nouveau French Restaurant in Municipal House in Prague on May 31, 2019. More information about the Municipal House and the French Restaurant can be found at http://www.obecnidum.cz/en. The registration to the Gala dinner is subject to a fee payment (79 EUR) which should be paid together with the conference fee.

Municipal House
The Municipal House has been one of the most significant public buildings in Prague for over a hundred years. After the city administration had purchased the plots where the Royal Court, the medieval seat of the Bohemian kings, used to be located, they announced an architectural competition for the Municipal House in 1903. Unsatisfied with the results of the competition, the city administration awarded this project to architects Antonín Balšánek and Osvald Polívka. They designed the Municipal House, following instructions from the city council, as a multifunctional building, which included areas for ceremonial purposes, exhibitions, concerts as well as restaurants and shops.

French Restaurant
The Art-Nouveau French Restaurant is located in the right wing of the Municipal House. It was officially opened on December 31, 1911 and is considered to be the most beautiful Art-Nouveau restaurant in the world. It is a prestigious, first-class restaurant, with Art-Nouveau interior decorations and furnishing, highly commended by experts for both its high-quality cuisine and unique atmosphere, augmented by jazz or live piano music. A highly professional team is led by chef Patrik Bečvář, member of the Czech National Culinary Team of the Association of Chefs and Pastry Chefs of the Czech Republic. The French Restaurant offers primarily French and international cuisine.

Tours

The conference team has arranged special offers for tours around Prague for all the FEBS 2019 conference participants and their partners. If you are interested in the tours, please visit https://www.bellprague.cz/febs/ where you can book any tour that you like. 

The tours are mostly located in Prague but the offer contains also the visit of Kutna Hora and Cesky Krumlov (both UNESCO cities), Karlovy Vary and Konopiste castle.

Please note that the tours are not included in the conference fee.
