3rd National Conference of the Financial Engineering and Banking Society
The 3rd National Conference of the Financial Engineering and Banking Society (FEBS) took place on 17-18 of December, 2012 at the conference center of Ethniki Insurance (103-105 Syngrou Avenue, Athens, Greece).
The opening of the conference was held by Mr.Alexandros Tourkolias (Chief Executive Officer of National Bank) and the annual honorary award was given to Prof. Nikolaos Travlos (Dean of ALBA Graduate Business School, Greece).
The Conference covered a wide range of topics related to financial engineering and banking, including but not limited to:
- Asset pricing
- Asset-liability management
- Liquidity risk
- Banking and Financial Management
- Credit risk modeling
- Bank efficiency and performance measurement
- Quality management in the banking sector
- Issues related to the regulatory framework
- International banking
- Financial crisis
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Money and capital markets
- Financial derivatives
The Conference put special emphasis on the quantitative aspects of financial decision making and risk management, focusing on new advances in statistical/econometric modeling, new artificial intelligence techniques, and operations research approaches.
Selected papers from the Conference will be published after review in a special issue arranged in International Journal of Financial Engineering and Risk Management (Inderscience Publishers). Authors of articles selected for presentation at the conference are been invited to submit their final version for consideration until 28th February, 2013 for publication in the special issue.
